Jason Laing was out with our AS350 Squirrel this weekend doing some training with the Wakatipu LandSAR Alpine Cliff Rescue team. Utilising the HETS (Human External Transport System) underneath the helicopter, rescue scenarios were recreated throughout Saturday morning. Heliworks latest – Antarctica and Management!
As of the 1st of July 2012 Richard and Carol Hayes have taken on sole ownership of Heliworks along with their Te Anau based operation Southern Lakes Helicopters! This exciting new development within the company
has been followed by the announcement of Richard Mills
as our new General Manager, with a wealth of experience both internationally and locally we are really looking forward to having Richard on board. And just to top off all this news Richard Hayes secured a three-year contract to provide helicopter support services to scientists in Antarctica – very exciting times here at Heliworks!

Heliworks Night Vision Goggle medivac
Heliworks
Pilot Scott Theyers was called
out on a medivac flight with our Night Vision Goggles at the weekend when a jetboat rolled on Saturday afternoon in the Rees Valley near Glenorchy. The driver of the boat had
to be airlifted to Invercargill hospital.
Heliworks is the only company on the Queenstown airfield that is Night Vision capable.

Steve Price Night of Courage
Heliworks are proud to have been able to help with the fundraising which took place at the Steve Price Night of Courage for the Child Cancer Foundation. Over $110,000 was raised on the night, with silent auctions and “shave your lid for a brave kid”.
